Lee Humiston, director of the Maine Military Museum in South Portland, will be the featured speaker when the Stephen Manchester Post 62 of the American Legion meets at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Post 62 is located at 17 Dunn St. in Westbrook.
A dinner with chicken Parmesan and fixings, catered by Profenno’s, will be served. The cost is $10.
The post was named in honor of Manchester, the first Westbrook soldier to die in France during World War I.
Fresh food for those in need
The Locker Project, providing free fresh food for anyone, will be at Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St. in Westbrook from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Sept. 25, and every second Thursday through Dec. 18.
The dates at the library for dispensing the food are Oct. 9, Oct. 23, Nov. 6, Nov. 20, Dec. 4 and Dec. 18.

Presumpscot River harvest dinner
The Three Sisters Harvest Dinner will be served from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Conant Homestead, 89 Conant St., Westbrook. The event benefits Presumpscot River programs and river restoration efforts.
The menu includes stew served in squash bowls, cornbread, grilled chicken, fruit cobblers, soft drinks, beer and wine. There will be plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options. Suggested donation $60.
The Friends of the Presumpscot River sponsor the event.

District governor to visit Rotary

The Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Club will welcome District Governor Emma Bodwell when it meets at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Westbrook Regional Vocational Center, 125 Stroudwater St.
Bodwell is from the Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club.
Guests are welcome and lunch will be served. The cost is $13.
