“Deal or No Deal Island” just got booted off the island at NBC.
The network has cancelled the reality competition series, a spinoff of the popular game show “Deal or No Deal,” after only two seasons, per Deadline.
The show, which was hosted by actor Joe Manganiello, placed a group of contestants on the Banker’s private island for a combination of “Survivor”-esque challenges paired with traditional “Deal or No Deal” gameplay.
The contestants participated in physically demanding challenges during the day — think: walking across a beam over quicksand or swinging across fiery pits — to retrieve the infamous briefcases, which held varying amounts of cash.
The player(s) who secured the briefcase with the highest value gained immunity and earned the power to select a contestant to enter The Temple that night to play a round of “Deal or No Deal.” The game in The Temple determined the contestant’s fate: If the player accepted a deal worth less than the value of their chosen case, they were eliminated. However, if they accepted a deal worth more than the value of their case, they gained the power to choose which of their opponents to eliminate.
The show’s freshman season featured Robert Mariano, a.k.a. “Boston Rob,” best known for his appearances on “Survivor,” and “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Claudia Jordan. Season 2, which premiered in January 2025, featured another “Survivor” alum, Parvati Shallow, and “Big Brother” alum, Will Kirby.
According to Deadline, the show’s cancellation isn’t a huge surprise, as its second season averaged a 0.24 in the 18-49 demo, per Nielsen, down from Season 1.
