    This past week delivered a number of impressive performances in soccer, power lifting and indoor track and field.
    Which of them was the best?
    Here’s your chance to make your vote count and choose The Advocate Baton Rouge Area Athlete of the Week. The poll will wrap up at noon on Thursday, and the winner will be recognized on the The Advocate High School Sports Facebook page.

    Dylan Rockett, Live Oak: Rockett broke four regional records and placed first in his weight class over the weekend. He earned the title of Top Lifter in the Super Heavyweight division, achieving the highest total at the meet. He squatted 700, benched 470 and deadlifted 645.
    Kennedy Papillion, St. Joseph’s Academy: The Redstickers senior won the Division I girls high jump event at the state indoor track and field meet Saturday. She tied the Division I meet record of 5 feet, 9¼ inches set in 2017.
    Makayla Miller, Madison Prep: Miller won two individual races at the state indoor track and field meet on Saturday. She won the Division II 60-meters and the 60-meter hurdles.
    William May, University High: The Cubs senior scored the goal to put U-High in front and win 2-1 against Hannan to clinch a spot in the Division III boys soccer state title match. He also raced in the 3,200-meter relay in the state indoor track and field meet on the same day.
    Ella Kate Johnston, Parkview Baptist: The Eagles junior scored a goal and also had an assist to help Parkview Baptist defeat Sacred Heart, 2-1, to earn a trip to the Division III girls soccer state title match.
