Thistle Creek Farms, owned by George Lake, is one of 12 farms being featured on The Farms of America series on YouTube.
Thistle Creek Farms is episode 8 and is the only one of the 12 from Pennsylvania.
“Farms of America” is an unscripted documentary-style TV show that follows the lives of ambitious farmers from diverse backgrounds across the United States.
Thistle Creek Farms has been producing grass-fed beef for more than four decades with its main goal to raise grass-fed beef and sheep on the best grasses from around the world.
UGI helping customers
UGI Utilities Inc. is announcing an additional one-time donation of $500,000 to the Operation Share Energy Fund. This brings UGI’s total contribution this year to $1.7 million. Operation Share provides energy assistance grants to qualified customers who are having trouble paying their heating bills. UGI’s company donation is in addition to what will be raised through an employee giving campaign beginning this week.
Since 1983, the Operation Share Energy Fund has provided energy assistance grants to qualified customers. Operation Share is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is also funded by UGI customers and concerned citizens.

Cenvar Roofing expands
Roofing contractor Cenvar Roofing & Solar announced its expansion into Pennsylvania with the opening of new branches in Altoona and State College, which will begin booking appointments on Dec. 1.
Following a year of significant growth, these locations represent Cenvar’s eighth and ninth branch openings in 2025. The Lynchburg, Va.-based company now operates more than 20 locations across Virginia, Tennessee, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania branches will service residents within a 30-mile radius of each new location, offering roof replacements for both asphalt and metal roofing. Led by regional manager Collin Murphy, these new locations are home to a team of qualified, certified local professionals.
