COLUMBIA — A new ice cream shop has announced an opening date for its new storefront on Main Street in Columbia.
Crispy Cones, an ice cream chain offering unique doughy cones, will open a new store at 1204 Main St. in Columbia on March 27, according to a March 13 post on the store’s social media pages.
A grand opening is planned for noon to midnight on March 27, according to the announcement.
“Bring the crew, come hungry, and help us kick off Columbia’s cone era,” the announcement read.
Plans for the new Main Street storefront went public in August 2025. The location will be within walking distance of the Statehouse and next door to the Moxy Hotel, in a spot formerly occupied by a boutique.
Crispy Cones has 25 locations in 14 states, with 13 more listed as “coming soon” or with opening dates in the coming months on the chain’s website.
The Columbia store will be the second in South Carolina, following a Greenville location that opened in April 2025.
The chain’s unique take on ice cream cones “are taken off the grill and covered in cinnamon and sugar or specialty powder, and filled with creamy spreads, gourmet soft serve ice cream, delicious toppings, and a decadent sauce on top,” according to the chain’s website.
