Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for The Bad Batch season 3, episode 10, “Identity Crisis”
Summary Cad Bane is working for the Empire collecting Force-sensitive children for Project Necromancer.
The Bad Batch season 3 is hinting at future Star Wars projects that could involve both Cad Bane and Asajj Ventress.
The theory suggests a new animated series may focus on Cad Bane as an antagonist of Ventress and Quinlan Vos as they work for the Hidden Path network.
Star Wars may have just set up a popular villain for an upcoming animated series that has yet to be officially confirmed. Although it has yet to be accounted there are several clues that Lucasfilm is planning an exciting future for its animated projects. As such, a strong theory suggests that the infamous bounty hunter Cad Bane may become a primary antagonist in an exciting future Star Wars show.
Currently, The Bad Batch season 3 is nearing its series finale, concluding the adventures of Clone Force 99. Likewise, the newly revealed Tales of the Empire is set to debut on May 4th (Star Wars Day) replacing what was expected to be Tales of the Jedi season 2. That said, it does seem as though The Bad Batch season 3 is setting up another animated project involving Cad Bane during the Age of the Empire.

Cad Bane Worked For The Empire And Project Necromancer
“The Stifling Calling The Quacta Slimy”
Despite his future comments in The Book of Boba Fett seemingly condemning Boba for his past work with the Empire, The Bad Batch season 3 confirms Cad Bane did far worse than Fett for Imperial credits. Just like his work collecting Force-sensitive children for Palpatine during the Clone Wars, it’s revealed in The Bad Batch season 3, episode 10 that Bane is still collecting bounties on children with high midi-chlorian counts. Taking them from their parents, Bane delivers these children to the Empire’s Advanced Science Division on Mount Tantiss which is currently conducting experiments for Project Necromancer (Palpatine’s resurrection plan).
Likewise, Cad Bane confirms to Doctor Emerie Karr in this episode that he’s collected several children beyond what has been seen on-screen both in The Bad Batch and The Clone Wars. He’s darkly good at it, and the money pays well enough for him to continue kidnapping children all over the galaxy for the Empire. As it stands, it’s more than likely that the infamous bounty hunter will continue hunting children for Project Necromancer so long as they keep paying him.

The Bad Batch Is Teasing Future Stories And Set-Up For A New Star Wars Project
    Ventress, M-Counts, and More

Cad Bane’s current whereabouts and activities are very intriguing, especially considering other elements that have been revealed in The Bad Batch season 3. For example, it’s been revealed that Asajj Ventress is alive and has been keeping tabs on the Empire’s activities regarding M-count targets. Although she makes an appearance in The Bad Batch season 3 and tests Omega to see if she’s Force-sensitive, questions about how she’s alive and more about what she’s been up to since the Clone Wars have gone unanswered.
Asajj Ventress Hailing from the Nightsisters of Dathomir, Asajj Ventress became Count Dooku’s apprentice during the Clone Wars. Betrayed by her master, she sought revenge – even forming a surprising alliance with Jedi Master Quinlan Vos at one point. Asajj has reinvented herself as a bounty hunter, and survived into the Dark Times of the Empire’s reign. The explanation for how Asajj Ventress is alive when she seemingly sacrificed herself in the novel Dark Disciple by Christie Golden has not yet been revealed. However, The Bad Batch writer Jennifer Corbett has confirmed that Ventress does have a future that will be told at some point, though not necessarily within the final episodes of The Bad Batch season 3. This implies that Ventress’ story will continue in some other project, one that will likely be an animated spin-off from the events of The Bad Batch once it officially ends.
Star Wars Theory: Cad Bane Is Being Set-Up For A Hidden Path Story
He’d Be The Perfect Villain To Oppose Ventress (And Vos)
    Close
Ventress has an established romance with Quinlan Vos, a Jedi Master who’s still alive during the Dark Times thanks to a confirmation in Obi-Wan Kenobi. In the live-action series, it was revealed that Quinlan has been working with the Hidden Path network to keep Force-sensitive children out of the Empire’s hands. As such, it’s very possible that Ventress reunited with Vos following her presumed resurrection and the two of them are working together with the Hidden Path, their adventures continuing in a new series focused on the secret resistance group in the Star Wars canon.
To that end, Cad Bane would be the perfect antagonist for a Hidden Path animated series. After all, kidnapping Force-sensitive children in the name of the Empire is exactly what the Hidden Path is trying to prevent. While this Cad Bane theory is ultimately just conjecture, it does seem like a likely possibility considering all the clues and teases The Bad Batch has set up thus far. It would also provide the perfect means for Can Bane and Quinlan Vos to have an epic Clone Wars rematch in the Star Wars timeline.
