    Allison Conner wore a glamorous Anne Barge wedding gown as she happily tucked into a miniature cheeseburger at the Boston Public Library.

    The bride watched as trays of chicken tenders, espresso martinis, and a custom Fathead (a blowup photo mounted on a stick) of their Vizsla, Newton, twirled across the dance floor. The White Mountain Creamery sundae bar — a nod to their alma mater, Boston College, where the ice cream shop is popular with students — had thrilled the 41 alums in attendance (plus, anyone with a sweet tooth). The nine-piece wedding band, Wilson Stevens’ Eye2Eye, kept their 214 guests moving ever since they had invited mother-son and father-daughter duos to join the bride and groom during their respective parent dances.

    Then, a friend rushed toward her: “You have to go up to the stage.”
