EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Saturday featured a marquee prep boys hockey matchup in the championship of the annual Memorial Meltdown tournament.
Eau Claire Memorial came up just short to Notre Dame Academy. In other prep boys hockey action, Eau Claire North dominated Antigo and Menomonie fell to Tomahawk.
On the hardwood, Eau Claire North earned the win over Superior. Husky senior guard Elli O’Keefe notched her 1,00th career point in the victory. Other girls basketball games included West Salem vs. Eau Claire Memorial, Regis vs. Medford and Menomonie vs. Wauwatosa East.
In boys basketball, Eau Claire North fell to D.C. Everest.
UW-La Crosse football’s season came to an end in the second round of the NCAA D-III tournament at the hands of St. John’s University (MN).
UW-Eau Claire battled St. Norbert in both men’s basketball and men’s hockey. The Blugolds earned the win on the hardwood, but came up short on ice.
