Celtics fans hoping to savor the team’s 2024 title run should probably circle Oct. 9 on their calendars for when a new Netflix Sports documentary series starts streaming.
Titled “Starting 5,” the series focuses on the day-to-day experiences — both on and off the court — of five NBA stars. This list of players is Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, Domantas Sabonis, and Celtics forward Jayson Tatum. It will consist of 10 episodes, each 45 minutes long.
Tatum, 26, who was a central figure in the Celtics’ dominant performance to win the NBA championship, also plays a main role in the recent promo for the Netflix series.

The original reports of the series’ development began in January, with NBA insider Shams Charania explaining that it would follow a similar profile to another Netflix Sports show, “Quarterback.”
The series is being produced by “UNINTERRUPTED,” in association with Higher Ground Productions and Omaha Productions. The producer list includes Maverick Carter, former U.S. President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and Peyton Manning.
