“Brilliant Minds” will look a little different moving forward.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for season 2 of “Brilliant Minds.”
Two major characters, Dr. Jacob Nash (Spence Moore II) and Dr. Van Markus (Alex MacNicoll), are exiting the NBC medical drama. Van’s girlfriend, Michelle (Stacey Farber), died during the Jan. 5 midseason premiere after getting into a car crash during the fall finale. Van then made the decision to step away from work to be there for his and Michelle’s son Liam (Henry Falk).
Elsewhere in the episode, Jacob revealed that he’s leaving Bronx General Hospital for a new position at a sports clinic in Dallas.
So, are Van and Jacob gone for good? Showrunner Michael Grassi didn’t give a definitive answer during an interview with TVLine published Jan. 5.
“This is what I’ll say: I love Spence and I love Alex. They’ve been with the show from the very beginning, and I’m a huge fan of theirs, and they are still very much a part of our world,” Grassi said. “And in that last scene, [Dr. Oliver] Wolf (Zachary Quinto) says something that he means, he says, ‘My door is always open.’ So, my hope is that this is not the last we will see of Van and Jacob on ‘Brilliant Minds.’ … We’ll definitely hear about them and hopefully hear from them. And my hope and my prayer is that we’ll see them soon.
