Brusly needed just two pitches to make its mark against Parkview Baptist.
Leadoff hitter Zoe Fabre knocked a line-drive single to center field to start the game. Lillyrose Albarez then smashed a two-run homer to left field, giving Brusly an early lead.
From there, Panthers pitcher Abigail Heidbrink shut down the Eagles to keep Brusly in front the rest of the way. She struck out 11 in seven innings to help Brusly beat Parkview 3-1 at Parkview Baptist on Tuesday.
Brusly coach Beau Bouvier said the early offense was crucial to Heidbrink settling in early against a talented Eagles lineup.
