As our deals editor said in Thursday’s Strategist Sales Alert, a Gap Factory sale started just as Gap’s Friends & Family sale ended: Everything at the outlet is up to 70 percent off. And there are a lot of spring-y things marked down for cheap, including a 100 percent cotton crewneck that’s a version of the Strategist’s official “boyfriend” sweater and high-rise barrel-leg pants that make me think it’ll be a Gap Factory–pant spring this year after last year’s Gap-pant summer. But the best deal on the entire site might be on a boatneck tank top that was $25 and is now marked down to $15. I included it in our Spring 100. Not only is it seasonally appropriate, it’s the Platonic ideal of a tank top. I say this because it’s stretchy, with a blend of 96 percent cotton and 4 percent spandex; it won’t show any bra straps (thanks to the way the boatneck stays put); and you can wear it by itself or as a layer. Plus it comes in pastels with names like Bainbridge blue, purple orchid, and maize — in addition to basic white, black, and navy. Strategist readers like it too: It’s been one of the most-clicked items on the site this week. Hop to it.
