Owners of recently renovated or constructed residences are invited to be part of the 2026 Portland Homes Tour organized by the Oregon Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Oregon).
People are asked to apply online at aiaoregon.org/events/portland-homes-tour by Friday, Jan. 16, for a house, condo or compact accessory dwelling unit (ADU) to be considered for the special one-day event.
Applicants should briefly describe the home’s energy-efficient features and the name of the Portland area AIA-affiliated architect or design firm that was involved.
The modern or contemporary dwellings must be substantially complete, furnished and landscaped, and submissions will be juried by the AIA Portland Homes Tour Committee.
This isn’t a historic home tour or a luxury show like Street of Dreams, but a day to showcase architectural design skills, said AIA architect Risa Boyer Leritz, one of the volunteer organizers.
The 2026 Homes Tour is scheduled to take place Saturday, April 25.
Owners of homes selected will receive two tickets to see all the featured residences on the tour day. Trained docents will be at each property throughout the tour. Additional insurance, floor protection, way-finding and off-limits signage as well as fresh flower arrangements will be provided by the Portland section of the nonprofit AIA Oregon.
Portland AIA volunteers are reviving the popular tour that was presented annually from 2009 until 2019 to once again help the public connect with their architecture community, organizers said.
