It’s almost uncanny how uniform the Radio City Rockettes look while lined up in their iconic Christmas Spectacular kicklines.
Everything from perfectly coiffed hair to expertly matched shades of their nylons is delicately curated to ensure that when they are kicking on stage at Radio City Music Hall, a stray bobby pin or a ripped pantyhose won’t ruin the illusion that their eye-high kicks provide.
And, part of that look is the signature red Rockette lipstick each dancer sports through their hour-and-a-half-long show.
However, you might be surprised to learn that, unlike the matching costumes that are exact replicas of each other right down to the smallest sequin, Radio City Rockettes are actually not wearing the same lipstick shade on stage.
In fact, according to current cast member Hayden Helms, the Rockettes may actually all be wearing entirely different shades.
