Star Wars has introduced countless Jedi across movies, shows, comics, and more. As such, some of the coolest and most fascinating Jedi Knights have yet to appear in live-action.
Thanks to the Disney+ era of live-action shows and Star Wars’ imminent return to theatrical releases, there is opportunity and potential for several Jedi to get their live-action moment. Keeping that in mind, here are 10 Jedi Knights who’ve never received a live-action appearance (and absolutely should in the near future).
Porter Engle
Porter Engle appears throughout the High Republic comics and novels, especially The Blade and Light of the Jedi. Known as the “Blade of Bardotta,” Porter is a centuries-old Jedi highly skilled with a lightsaber, known for his role in legendary battles, while also having quite the layered past as he helped the Republic explore the new frontiers of the Outer Rim.
While live-action High Republic projects seem to have cooled after The Acolyte, Porter could easily debut as a grounded warrior during the Nihil conflict, an event that took place much earlier in the era. His experience and near-mythic reputation would make him an ideal member of a greater High Republic ensemble series.
Stellan Gios
Stellan Gios played a central role in High Republic novels like Light of the Jedi, The Rising Storm, and various comics. A respected Jedi Master and leader of the Council, Stellan’s storyline shows the Republic’s political struggles and the Jedi’s attempt to maintain harmony during mounting chaos as the Nihil continued to gain power (including his ultimate sacrifice).
Gios also wielded one of the most impressively unique lightsabers, inspired by an ornate medieval broadsword.
A live-action adaptation of Stellan Gios would be a fascinating figure in future High Republic storytelling. Perhaps we could get a series featuring a younger version of the character, perhaps as a Jedi Knight alongside Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann (his two greatest friends in the Jedi Order).
Keeve Trennis
Keeve Trennis appears primarily in Marvel’s The High Republic comics from Cavan Scott. Introduced as a recently knighted Jedi, she struggles with self-doubt while facing growing galactic threats. She also comes to embody the next generation of Jedi leadership, eventually becoming the Jedi Order’s new Marshall during the Nihil crisis as a Jedi Master.
Keeve would also become one of the Jedi Order’s Lost Twenty, members who for one reason or another, chose to leave the Order (like Count Dooku).lost
Keeve would translate naturally to live-action as a young hero carrying the hopes and goals of the Jedi Order. Without a doubt, she could headline a High Republic series, while her personal struggle would give audiences a solid entry point into the High Republic Era.
Elzar Mann
Elzar Mann features heavily in High Republic stories, especially Light of the Jedi, The Rising Storm, and Temptation of the Force.
Known for his unorthodox relationship with the Force and impulsive nature, Elzar often bended Jedi norms while still holding deep loyalty to the Order and his closest friends. His visions also helped foreshadow the era’s darkest moments, shaping major narrative turns for the overarching story.
In live-action, Elzar could easily bring a more unpredictable Jedi archetype to the screen. His bold approach to the Force and emotional struggles would offer a compelling contrast to more level Jedi Knights.
Avar Kriss
Avar Kriss is one of the High Republic’s most central Jedi, appearing in novels and comics as a brilliant Jedi Marshall with a powerfully unique musical connection to the Force. Her ability to harmonize Force-users made her incredibly influential during crises, capable of uniting the Jedi like none other.
As such, Avar Kriss led major operations against the Nihil and inspired loyalty across the Order. Avar’s live-action debut would be a major event for the franchise. Her leadership and signature Force ability would create some truly stunning visual sequences.
Kirak Infil’a
Kirak Infil’a appears in Marvel’s Darth Vader (2017) comic series. A long-lived and solitary Jedi specializing in combat and forging lightsabers, he survived Order 66 thanks to his Barash Vow, having removed himself from the Jedi Order and galactic affairs long before the Clone Wars’ end.
Kirak’s confrontation with Darth Vader became one of the Sith Lord’s first early trials, with the Dark Lord defeating the Jedi Master and claiming his lightsaber’s kyber crystal to bleed for his own Sith blade.
If Lucasfilm were to ever adapt this Darth Vader series for live-action, Kirak would have to appear, adding tension to Vader’s early days as a Sith Lord, having been involved in such a key moment. Including Kirak would also deepen the portrayal of the various Jedi survivors during the Empire’s early purge efforts post-Order 66.
Tensu Run
Tensu Run appeared in the recent Imperial Inquisitors comic series. Seeking to rebuild the Jedi Order on his own during the Dark Times, Run directly challenged various Inquisitors including the Fifth Brother, Seventh Sister, and Ninth Sister.
Offering hope to the galaxy with the promise of Jedi restoration, Tensu becomes a priority target for the Empire, eventually gaining the attention of Darth Vader himself. As such, a live-action debut of Tensu Run would be perfect for a live-action Darth Vader series, showcasing the Dark Lord’s ongoing hunt for Jedi survivors during the height of the Empire’s power.
Kanan Jarrus
Kanan Jarrus is the cornerstone of the animated series Star Wars Rebels, having also appeared in comics including Kanan: The Last Padawan, which showcased his younger days as Caleb Dume.
Surviving Order 66, Caleb rebuilt his identity as Kanan Jarrus, eventually coming to mentor Ezra Bridger while leading the Rebel cell known as the Spectres. His journey explores trauma, redemption, and the shifting meaning of being a Jedi amid the oppression of the Empire.
Despite his death an epic sacrifice at the end of Rebels season 4, Kanan could appear in live-action a few different ways. A key means would be flashbacks to unseen Rebels moments in New Republic-era shows like Ahsoka, perhaps even adaptations of Ezra’s early training. Additionally, Kanan’s youth as Caleb Dume would also work in a Dark Times series exploring survivors of the purge.
Whatever the means, it’d be pretty cool to see Kanan’s voice actor (Freddie Prinze Jr.) play the iconic Jedi Knight in live-action.
Cal Kestis
Cal Kestis features in EA’s Jedi: Fallen Order, and Jedi: Survivor, with a third game in development. As another Padawan who escaped Order 66, Cal Kestis rebuilds his connection to the Force while battling Inquisitors and discovering ancient mysteries about the Jedi and the Force.
Kestis’ story serves as an epic bridge between the prequel and original trilogy eras, initially trying to rebuild the Jedi Order before simply seeking a sanctuary from the Empire’s tyranny.
Live-action could incorporate Cal during the expanding post-Order 66 timeline. Likewise, Cameron Monaghan’s existing portrayal would make a direct translation all too easy. Cal could appear in a crossover series, a limited Disney+ event, or even future Jedi-focused films.
Revan
Thus far, Revan has only appeared in brief canonical references, while his full story exists primarily in Knights of the Old Republic and its associated non-canonical Legends material. Nevertheless, his dual path as both Jedi and Sith remains one of Star Wars’ most powerful narratives, and it’s just begging for a live-action depiction.
Revan would be the ideal central figure for a live-action Old Republic project. His fall, redemption, and multifaceted identity could easily anchor an epic live-action series or even a full film trilogy.
Revan’s longstanding popularity would ensure high audience and fan interest, while exploring him onscreen would allow Star Wars to finally expand into an era fans have long requested, rich with both Jedi and Sith history.
