The USS Constitution is featured prominently in the specialty uniforms the Navy football team will wear when facing archrival Army on Dec. 13 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
The Midshipmen are celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States Navy with this year’s uniforms, which were designed by Under Armour. The goal of this year’s uniform was to tell a compelling story that seamlessly combines the history of the U.S. Navy, the six original frigates and the Naval Academy.
According to a release issued by Navy Athletics, the color, fonts, branding and detailing were all historically inspired. Front and center is the USS Constitution, which is displayed on the specially designed and airbrushed helmets.
Currently located in Boston, the USS Constitution is the only remaining frigate from the original fleet of six and is the world’s oldest commissioned warship still afloat.
