Maroon 5 wants to share their fans’ “Memories” on their upcoming tour.
The pop-rock band announced, in an Instagram Reel, that they will be displaying fan photos during their upcoming Love Is Like Tour. In the video, lead singer Adam Levine explained that fans can submit photos of their loved ones to their new Memories website. The photos will be displayed on the big screen during their performance of their hit song “Memories.”
“Hey guys, we’re doing something super, super cool on this tour,” Levine said. “We’re going to put your pictures of anybody that you miss, that you’ve lost, when we play ‘Memories.’”
He adds, “We all have someone that we miss that isn’t here anymore, and so we want to help remember them. Send a picture of them, and we’re going to try to get them all up on the big screen for the performance of ‘Memories.’”
“This is a really special moment, we cannot wait to share it with you guys. It’ll be super, super special. We love you guys,” Levine said.
“Memories,” from the band’s 2021 album Jordi, is about grief and remembering loved ones. The song was written as a tribute to the band’s manager and Levine’s close friend Jordan Feldstein, who died in December 2017 at the age of 40. Feldstein had been the band’s manager since their inception in 1994. He is also the brother of actors Jonah Hill and Beanie Feldstein.
At the time, Levine opened up to Howard Stern about his loss on The Howard Stern Show. He explained that he loved Feldstein “like a brother.”
“I needed this song,” Levine said.
He continued, “In a world that is increasingly chaotic and crazy and angry in a lot of ways, rather than fight about things, it’s nice to have common ground and all of us have had loss.”
The Love Is Like Tour follows the release of Maroon 5’s eighth studio album of the same name. The 10-track album, released on Aug. 15, includes features from Lil Wayne on the titular song, Lisa on “Priceless” and Sexxy Red on “I Like It.”
