The UConn men’s soccer team is off to a torrid start, unbeaten in its first eight games of the season and entering a showdown at No. 11 Akron on Friday at 5-0-3 (W-L-D) on the season.
The Huskies are racking up the wins, and they’re also racking up the highlight-reel plays– having been featured on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays in back-to-back games.
First it was senior forward Austin Brummett‘s diving header against Colgate on Sept. 8 off of a cross from outside the box, which landed at No. 9 in the Top 10.
Two days later, senior midfielder Nicolas Tomerius hit a screamer from the top of the box into the top right corner of the net for an absolute golazo– and the No. 5 play of the night.
The Huskies won both games, beating Colgate 3-0 in Storrs and Brown 3-1 in Providence.
